Traditional Japanese dishes and sushi served in a quiet, casually-elegant atmosphere. If you like your sushi with some peace and quiet, this might be the place for you. A place where grownups can have a conversation and an adult drink while sampling a variety of flavors and dishes from Japan. Sushi not your thing? Enjoy something hot off the grill if you like.
User Reviews
This place is small and cozy, the food is delicious and the service is good almost every single time we go. I am a regular and have discovered by now that there are only four servers that they rotate through all the time. Most of the time, there is one girl taking care of everyone by herself and most of the time my service is beyond satisfactory. When deciding on a place to take your loved ones for a nice dinner, don't listen to this PastorK character and his negative attitude when he has probably only been to Izumi once in his life. I know this place and I have had all of the servers at least once. More often than not, you will get amazing service.
This is in a great downtown location, known for it's cozy atmosphere. The food was good. However, when I pointed out that the order was not what we intended, a mistake had been made, no apology or attempt was made to correct it. Even though only one piece of a high-price roll was eaten and we complained that it made us ill because of being so sweet and we ordered a spicy roll, the only offer was a to-go box. No discount off the bill, no apology, no offer to supply different food. Not so much as "would you like to order something else?" In fact, the wait staff disappeared. Definitely not the place to go if you're in a rush. Or if you expect quality service.
Love to invite others to this awesome sushi bar just off the downtown square. The quality is simply the best. Has the best cucumber special I ever had. Also the sweet tasting shetaki mushroom roll is almost a desert in itself.
